Biography
Having been initiated in her first public appearance at merely 10 months, Anna Chlumsky is most known for portraying the role of Vada Sultenfuss, co-starring Macaulay Culkin, in the movie My Girl (1991) and its sequel, My Girl 2 in 1994. Anna also appeared in TV films Miracle in the Woods (1997) and A Child's Wish (1997) and movies Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain (1995), Trading Mom (1994) and Uncle Buck (1989).

Anna prefers to live her life like the girl next-door. She does not flaunt, wearing little make-up and jewellery. She enjoys dressing in jeans, t-shirts and sweaters, and sports a pretty, but not flashy, hairstyle.

About being recognised Anna said: "It creeped me out at first, but I guess it's nice to know I still resonate in people's minds."

Childhood and Family:
Anna Chlumsky was born on December 3, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents are Nancy Chlumsky (actress, born in 1952) and Frank Chlumsky.

Anna earned top grades and finished her International Studies at the University of Chicago in 2002.

Career:
"They spoil you rotten. If you want a glass of milk, they run off to get you one." Anna Chlumsky on being a child star."

First known as a ten-month-old model, Anna Chlumsky was later showcased in TV advertisements and theatre work. Chlumsky expanded her acting with performing on stage in productions like Fiddler on the Roof and The Music Man.

After barely flashing on the screen in Uncle Buck (1989), Chlumsky received her first real role in the movie My Girl (1991), in which she played tomboy Vada Sultenfuss. Another famed child actor, Macaulay Culkin, would share the limelight of the hit film. In 1994 she returned to the role in the sequel My Girl 2 and later shared the screen with Academy Award winner Sissy Spacek in Trading Mom.

Often cast as a tomboy, fourteen-year-old Chlumsky won the role of Jody Salerno in the 1995 movie Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain. After a two years hiatus, Chlumsky appeared in the TV films Miracle in the Woods and A Child's Wish. In the following year, she guest starred in the TV series Cupid by portraying Jill in the episode Meat Market and played the role of Megan Clark in the episode Teen Angels for the show Early Edition.

Anna resides in New York City and once worked as a researcher for restaurant guide Zagat. She then left to work for the science fiction department at HarperCollins Publishers.
She took her first acting lessons last summer, and has been auditioning for — and getting —roles in off-off Broadway shows. She has appeared in Measure for Measure, and has been cast in other plays this year.

On the side, she also has a writing partner and a few screenplays in the works, but that’s not her focus now. She aims to get back into acting full-time and will stop at nothing to get there.
